Scholarship Documents in Telangana: A Practical Preparation Checklist

Preparing scholarship documents starts with identifying the correct application route. Telangana ePASS and the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) have different requirements, and fresh applications do not use exactly the same records as renewals. Build your folder around the scheme and academic year you intend to apply for, rather than collecting every certificate you can find.

This guide explains which records to gather, how to organise them and what to check before uploading. For Telangana ePASS post-matric applications, the official prerequisites provide a useful starting checklist. For NSP, the selected scheme’s specifications determine the documents you need. Having documents ready does not replace checking eligibility or the current application window.

Choose the document checklist that matches your application

Telangana ePASS provides separate post-matric, pre-matric and overseas services. Its post-matric routes also distinguish welfare categories and students studying outside Telangana. NSP hosts multiple schemes with different conditions. Use the comparison below to decide which official instructions should shape your document folder.

Application route Records to prepare first Where to confirm requirements
ePASS post-matric fresh SSC details, Aadhaar, MeeSeva certificates and study records Fresh-registration prerequisites for the relevant academic year
ePASS post-matric renewal Previous application ID, SSC details and Aadhaar name Renewal-record retrieval and the resulting form
NSP fresh OTR access and documents specified by the selected scheme NSP scheme Specifications and application form
NSP renewal Existing OTR access, previous application details and renewal records NSP renewal form and scheme requirements
ePASS overseas Documents listed for the particular overseas scheme Overseas services page and scheme instructions

1. Confirm your route before requesting certificates

Write down your academic year, course, institution, welfare category and whether you are applying fresh or renewing. Then open the corresponding official service. This avoids preparing documents for a similarly named scheme with different requirements.

On NSP, read the scheme’s Specifications before applying. Eligibility can depend on domicile, community, income, disability, institution, course, study mode and previous marks. Keep document preparation separate from eligibility assessment: a complete folder cannot make an otherwise ineligible application eligible.

2. Assemble identity details and check name consistency

Keep your Aadhaar and SSC records together so you can enter identity and examination details consistently. For ePASS fresh registration, prepare your SSC information, Aadhaar and mobile number. Check the spelling of your name across these records before starting the form, particularly if an abbreviation or spelling difference appears.

SC applicants should follow the ePASS route for name matching, pre-registration and MeeSeva biometric authentication before completing the application. NSP fresh applicants need One-Time Registration through mobile registration, eKYC and face authentication. OTR registration is free, but it is not itself a scholarship application.

  • Aadhaar record for entering and checking identity details.
  • SSC hall-ticket number, pass year and applicable pass type.
  • Mobile number for the registration and authentication process.
  • Photograph required by the relevant application form.
  • Existing NSP OTR details, if you already have an OTR.

3. Check caste and income certificates against the current form

The ePASS fresh prerequisites list MeeSeva caste and income certificates. Locate the certificates and check that their details match the applicant’s records. Do not assume that a certificate used for another purpose automatically satisfies the scholarship form.

The supplied ePASS 2026–27 fresh-registration prerequisites specify an income certificate obtained after 1 April 2025. Treat this as an academic-year-specific instruction, not a permanent rule for every application. Before obtaining or replacing a certificate, read the requirement displayed for your current application route.

  • Locate the MeeSeva caste certificate required for your category.
  • Check the income certificate’s issue date against the current prerequisites.
  • Review applicant details for errors before entering certificate information.
  • Check the selected scheme’s income condition separately from document readiness.

4. Collect study certificates and applicable admission records

For ePASS fresh applications, prepare seven consecutive years’ study or bonafide certificates. Make a year-by-year list and compare it with the certificates you hold. If a year is missing, contact the relevant school or college early rather than discovering the gap while completing the application.

Keep the CET allotment order where applicable. For NSP, collect academic and admission records according to the selected scheme’s requirements. For overseas applications, use the separate overseas checklist: the BC/EBC Mahatma Jyothiba Phule Overseas Vidya Nidhi instructions include COE/I-20 and visa requirements.

5. Prepare bank records and readable upload files

The ePASS fresh prerequisites list uploads including a photograph, Aadhaar, the bank-passbook first page, study certificates and the applicable allotment order. The same page exempts EBC students from the bank-passbook requirement. Follow the instructions for your category instead of assuming every applicant must upload an identical set.

Keep clear digital copies alongside the originals. Open each file to check that names, certificate details and page edges are readable. Use descriptive filenames for your own organisation, and check the portal’s displayed file-format and size requirements before uploading.

  • Photograph is clear and belongs to the applicant.
  • Aadhaar copy is readable.
  • Bank-passbook first page is ready where required.
  • Study certificates cover the requested sequence.
  • Applicable CET allotment order is included.
  • Each file opens correctly and contains the intended document.

6. Build a separate renewal folder

For ePASS renewal, first gather the details needed to retrieve the previous record: previous-year application ID, SSC pass type, hall-ticket number, pass year and Aadhaar name. Follow the retrieved renewal form rather than treating renewal as a new fresh application.

NSP renewals use existing OTR/application access. If a previous application is missing after moving from a parent or guardian-based OTR to your own OTR, consult the FAQ’s “Link Renewal Application” procedure. It uses the previous application ID and OTP authentication; scheme-specific renewal requirements still apply.

7. Review the folder before completing the application

Compare your folder with the actual application form, not only a general checklist. Check that each document belongs to the applicant, the correct file is attached and entered details agree with the supporting record. Resolve unclear requirements with the college scholarship office or the official help service before final submission.

On NSP, the fresh process continues after OTR: complete Basic Information, choose “Apply Fresh,” generate an application ID, select an available scheme, upload required documents and use Final Submit. Saving documents or creating an OTR alone does not complete that process.

Keep a submission record for follow-up

After submitting, retain the application ID, academic year and a copy of the submitted details. Keep these with the documents used for that application. A dedicated folder makes it easier to answer a college query, locate a certificate or prepare the next renewal.

The ePASS post-matric status service asks for academic year, application number, SSC details and date of birth. NSP provides application status through student login and separately links PFMS payment tracking. Application progress and payment tracking should therefore be checked through their respective services.

Use the right help channel for document problems

Ask your institution’s scholarship office about institution-related records and verification questions. For portal problems, use official support rather than sharing login credentials with an unfamiliar intermediary. Keep your application number and a concise description of the issue ready.

The ePASS homepage provides grievance and application-number recovery links. Its technical helpline is 040-23120311 on working days, 10:30 a.m.–5 p.m. NSP public services include grievance registration, helpdesk information and nodal-officer searches. Choose the channel that matches the problem you need resolved.

FAQ: Does every Telangana student need the same documents?

No. Requirements differ by portal, scheme, category and fresh or renewal route. Even within ePASS, the fresh prerequisites identify an EBC exception for the bank-passbook requirement. Use this guide to organise your preparation, then match the folder to the official form you will actually submit.

FAQ: Should I obtain new certificates for every renewal?

Do not assume that every record needs replacing. Start by retrieving the renewal application and reading its requirements. Keep previous application details and existing documents available, then obtain updated records where the renewal instructions require them. A fresh-registration certificate rule should not automatically be applied to a different renewal route.

FAQ: What should I do after my documents are ready?

Check the relevant portal for the current application window and complete the appropriate form. If eligibility is still unclear, use the companion eligibility guide; for submission and follow-up, use the application and status guide. The broader Telangana scholarship guide can help you compare relevant options without duplicating this document checklist.

Brief accuracy note

Requirements and registration windows can change by academic year and scheme. Confirm the current official form before submitting; document readiness does not establish eligibility or guarantee an award.
