Documents to Check Before Completing an Online Scholarship Application

A scholarship application is easier to complete when your documents are ready before you open the form on your phone. Missing certificate details, inconsistent names or unreadable photographs can interrupt submission and create avoidable follow-up work. For Telangana applicants, preparation should begin with the exact scheme, academic year and application route—not with a document list forwarded in a message.

This independent guide focuses on the document requirements listed for Telangana ePASS fresh post-matric registration for 2026–27. It is not a government application page or a universal checklist for pre-matric, overseas or renewal applications. Having the listed documents does not establish eligibility, confirm a scholarship amount or guarantee approval or payment.

1. Match your checklist to the academic year and application route

Before collecting files, identify whether you need fresh registration or renewal, and confirm that you are using the correct scholarship service. The official ePASS portal separates pre-matric, post-matric and overseas services. Within post-matric services, category-specific instructions may also differ. Write down your academic year, course, institution and category so that you can compare them with the application you intend to complete.

The official fresh-registration page is headed 2026–27. Use that page alongside the live post-matric services listing for current instructions. For application timing, consult the latest applicable schedule displayed on the official portal; do not carry a closing date forward from an earlier notice. A document checklist is not itself a deadline announcement, and a previous year's notice does not establish the current submission window.

2. Check SSC and Aadhaar details before entering them

The 2026–27 fresh-registration prerequisites list the SSC hall-ticket number, passing year and pass type, together with the student's Aadhaar number. Keep the relevant records beside you rather than entering these details from memory. Compare spelling, initials and identifying numbers carefully. A mistyped hall-ticket number or an incorrectly selected passing year can make an otherwise complete document folder unhelpful.

The official post-matric services page specifically tells SC fresh applicants to match the name in Aadhaar with the SSC certificate. It also describes MeeSeva biometric authentication before completing the application. These are route-specific instructions: the same page separately links ST OTR registration and fresh or renewal services. If your records disagree, ask the responsible office about the appropriate correction rather than altering a scanned document.

3. Review caste and income certificates separately

The fresh-registration prerequisites list MeeSeva-issued caste and income certificates. Check that the certificates belong to the applicant or relevant household as required by the form, and that their numbers, names and issue dates are readable. Keep the original records available while entering details. Do not assume that possessing another identity document replaces a certificate expressly required for your application route.

There is an important date detail to confirm: the page headed 2026–27 states that the income certificate must have been obtained after April 1, 2025. Do not silently reinterpret that as April 1, 2026, or assume why the earlier date appears. Check the live application instructions or ask the responsible welfare office which certificate date applies before obtaining a replacement or relying on an existing certificate.

4. Do not confuse certificate-service documents with scholarship uploads

Obtaining an income certificate involves its own supporting-document process. Telangana's official income-certificate application form lists identity evidence such as ration card, Aadhaar or EPIC; income evidence such as IT returns, payslips, proof of income or an affidavit; and a photograph. These documents support the certificate service. They do not establish that every listed item must be uploaded to every scholarship application.

Organise two separate folders if you still need a certificate: one containing evidence for the certificate application, and another containing records requested by ePASS. This practical separation helps prevent uploading an income affidavit where a MeeSeva-issued income certificate is expected. If the scholarship form requests certificate details rather than a file, enter those details accurately and retain the certificate for any subsequent checking.

5. Assemble seven consecutive years of study records

The fresh-registration page lists study or bonafide certificates covering the last seven consecutive years. Arrange these chronologically and check that the sequence is complete. Look for missing years, unreadable institution names and incorrect student details. If you attended several institutions, start gathering the records early; your current college may not hold certificates for all the earlier years.

A study gap needs particular attention. The official page says residence during a gap, as recorded by the MRO, matters for determining local-candidate status. Note the gap period and ask which supporting record is needed for your circumstances. Do not assume that a generic affidavit is sufficient, or invent a study history to make the sequence appear continuous.

6. Confirm admission records and the applicable allotment order

For CET courses, the fresh-registration prerequisites and upload checklist include the applicable CET allotment order. Check that the order relates to your admission and that the identifying details are readable. Keep it distinct from fee receipts, counselling messages or informal admission confirmations. Those records may be useful to retain, but they should not automatically be treated as substitutes for the requested allotment order.

Intermediate applicants have another dependency: the page says the college principal must complete online admission in the BIE portal before ePASS registration. Ask your college whether that step has been completed if registration cannot proceed. Repeatedly uploading documents will not resolve an incomplete institutional admission record. Confirm the course and institution details with the college before entering them into the scholarship form.

7. Check the bank record against your category's instructions

The explicit fresh-registration upload checklist includes the first page of the bank passbook showing the student's name, account number and branch IFSC. It labels this bank requirement as not applicable to EBC students. For applicants to whom it applies, check all three details against the form. A photograph that cuts off the IFSC or account-holder name is not a useful preparation copy.

The ePASS homepage states that India Postal payment bank accounts are accepted alongside nationalized-bank accounts and displays an Aadhaar-seeding resource for SC applications. Read these portal instructions together with your category's application fields rather than relying solely on older-looking bank wording on a prerequisites page. If uncertain, confirm the accepted account arrangement before changing accounts. Bank-document preparation alone does not confirm payment entitlement.

8. Prepare readable uploads on your phone

The fresh-registration upload checklist names a recent passport-size photograph, the student's Aadhaar card, the applicable bank-passbook page, seven-year study or bonafide certificates, and the applicable CET allotment order. Before starting, inspect each saved image: keep every edge visible, remove glare, and ensure small numbers remain readable when enlarged. These are practical quality checks, not additional government document requirements.

Check file formats and size limits in the actual upload fields. The prerequisites page does not establish a universal PDF, JPEG, dimension or kilobyte rule. Keep clear original copies and create smaller versions only when the form requires them. Use recognisable filenames and reopen each selected file before submission; on a phone, similar thumbnails can make it easy to attach the wrong certificate.

9. Keep scholarship amount claims out of document decisions

A message promising a particular scholarship amount is not evidence that your documents qualify you for that payment. Identity, income, admission and bank records support an application; they do not independently establish the benefit payable. Do not obtain an unnecessary certificate, change an account or select an incorrect category simply because an unofficial message says doing so will unlock a higher amount.

Keep questions about documents separate from questions about entitlement. If an amount is being advertised, look for the applicable official scheme rules before treating it as relevant to you. This checklist cannot confirm a payout from a forwarded claim. Your immediate task is to submit accurate records under the correct route, without treating a successful upload or acknowledgement as approval.

10. Complete a final review and retain your submission record

Before submitting, compare the form with your source documents one last time: SSC details, Aadhaar number, certificate details, study years, admission information and applicable bank particulars. The fresh prerequisites allow the student's or a family member's mobile number for registration OTPs; ensure that number is available during registration. Review every attachment, then retain the submitted files and acknowledgement as practical records of what you provided.

Renewal applicants should use the separate renewal instructions rather than assume that every fresh-registration document must be resubmitted. For technical difficulties, the official portal lists post-matric assistance at 040-23120311, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on working days. Certificate-date or requirement ambiguities should be clarified with the responsible office; a technical helpline listing is not a promise of approval or payment.
